The Malate Church is a unique baroque-style church that was built in the 16th century. This church is devoted to Nuestra Senora de Remedios (Our Lady of Remedies).
Nuestra Senora de Remedios is a depiction of the Virgin Mary to whom many people have turned to during troubled times. The Malate Church used to be the base from which the British launched an assault on Intramuros.
This assault placed Manila under British control for two years. My favorite aspect of the Malate Church is the churchr’s rooftop, because it is unique in the fact that it is in the form of a cross on aerial view.
